Default Bird shit

The hot weather's been great, but I left my car outside for a week or so only to come back to find some winged rat had emptied it's diarrhoea over my bonnet.

As a result, there is a large-ish patch where the paint is now peeling off.

Any ideas if Mazda (or anyone) will be able to respray this to an 'as new' look, and how much it would cost?

Cheers

A body shop would, I reckon around £150-200 notes.

Pigeon or Seagull?

No idea. Didn't see it.

I'm guessing bodyshop would be cheaper than Mazda, but would it be as good?

where do you think dealers send their cars to?

i dont think any dealer have their own shop, they're all 'approved' places.
which means naff all really. my S had to go back for a second spray at a place that claim they're approved for audi, mercs, astons etc..

I feel your pain.

A pair of house martins have set up home in the rafters outside my house.

Every time you go outside they fly around like Stuka dive bombers trying to ward you off, resulting in my car getting covered in gogg's of bird shit every other day.

Luckily I've been using the car a lot so I wash it off fairly quickly... Worrying that being left for a week resulted in the paint coming off!?

Did you know birds dont have a bowel & a bladder. They just have one combined, hence why its always gloopy with solids in it.

You need to get some wax on there for next time it happens!

Wax won't help much.

Going to send a pic of your paint peeling off patch to Clarkson san?

Anybody got pics of huge specimens of bird droppings to send to TG? We have Canada geese on the lake next door and I've had deposits from them on my car that are pretty impressive. Might go and collect a sample and do a mock up to send off.

(As nick says, in birds the bowel and bladder and also genitals are combined in one vent which is called the cloaca. I love it that the lovely word is Latin for sewer. )
