I think you should take this up with Moff. He rather likes his - albeit it's a 135i.

No arguments with the looks I even started a thread about it a while ago.

But I am seriously considering replacing my S2000 after the summer with either a 123d or 130i but would have to have the M Sport package.

I will see what happens.

To my eyes the 1 series is ugly even by BMW standards and i can't help thinking that the i series coupe looks like a noddy car.

There is one word to describe the 1 series coupe.

Dumpy.

Me too.

I like the looks, on sh1t wheels and in that awful Sedona red it looks hideous though.

I only like them in white and silver and with larger wheels.

The Xenon's make the front lights look much better too.

Nottm - are you relieving stress, because you couldn't keep up with the 123d?

Maybe a slight exageration on world's 'ugliest' car. The Vectra and new Insignia are far worse looking in my eyes and that's just scratching the surface of GM cars...

I do like my car, but mainly because of the engine which is nothing short of sensational IMO.

veccy is bland which is what it should be, insignia more fugly i agree but the proportions on the 1er are all wrong. it's like a big fat azz and no tats.

as for keeping up, i was on the bike so that wasn't an issue . keepin my brekky down was more of a problem are they quick? i've no idea and cba to look, i know they do some fast diesels but there's an oxymoron in there somewhere.. or a blunt pencil

Noddy car is what your mates say too isn't it Moff? must be true

To my eyes the 1 series is ugly even by BMW standards
they are rolling out some real munters at the minute en masse too: Z4, all the 1s, the M5, that X3 and X6 freakshow thing. the rest are just fairly bland

... Loser

123d is quick, but not 335d quick.

Good engine though, not many 200+ bhp 2.0d diesels out there that I know of.

So easy and cheap to remap to 250bhp.

Although diesels are not my thing, I can see the appeal of very low VED, very good mpg and 250bhp.

11 months left with my car, and then it's a 370Z... but I will miss the engine, and I am sure the 370Z will not be as quick. But I am looking forward to more involving handling, and a more challenging drive.
