Why not ?

If you want a bit more space than a 1 series ... a different type of space to a 3 series ... 4 wheel drive ... and/or the twin turbo diesel engine in the 23d maybe (that isn't available in the 3 series) ??

Looks are a bit odd - but then the 1 series is an acquired taste looks wise ...

They look like scrapeing the barrel reasons to me John.
You can buy a lot of space for the price of one of these.It is a shed load of money for a mini crossover,and I bet most of them will be 2wd.

I didn't say I am rushing out to buy one

If I went down that route to replace my 320d ... which I may - it would be a new X3 ...

Currently though a Lexus IS-F is appealing more .... but that's a different matter
