Boxster drivers
I see you there on the way to work. All 5 of you. Checking out my hellafresh whip, yo!
You're thinking you picked the wrong car arn't you? You're thinking "if only I had got an S2000, then I could look that cool too!"
You're definitely not thinking "Eurgh, look at that boy racer with a stupid exhaust!"
Why do you look away when I turn to give you a friendly smile and a nod? Theres no shame in it chaps!

Since I got my S, I've observed aggressive road behaviour by many boxter owners. I tend to ignore them as I'm not the sort of person to rise to that, my ride is worth more to me in one piece than it is wrapped around a tree. I just enjoy the drive and ignore em
I know my place.
I look down on Boxster drivers as I have a Boxster S, Boxster drivers look down on you because you drive an S2000.
I know my place.
I look up at Ferrari drivers, but we all look down at Audi drivers.

Actually, I think most Boxster drivers probably avoid eye contact/acknowledgement generally. This is because;
They are bullied by 911 drivers.
They are bullied by everyone else too. I once complimented an owner & I think he was genuinely shocked that it wasn't abuse.

When I owned my first Boxster I found male drivers went out of their way not to look at the car. On a few of occasions I returned to the car to find men looking at it but as soon as I approached they scuttled away embarrassed. After a while you return the compliment.
Women on the other hand gave big smiles as drivers and pedestrians, something I have never got whilst on foot
I prefer ladies anyway
I don't GAF about other peoples hang ups now, just enjoy the car and smile at everyone.

Get a Lotus, everybody loves them.
I can honestly say that I've never had so many good comments and people wanting to talk about the car.
I think it must be something lodged deeply in the British psyche, we like the idea of a couple of old duffers knocking up stuff in a shed in Norfolk.

I find the psychology associated to cars fascinating.
I love to purposely stop to let girls cross the road (even ugly ones), as they cross they do this coy smile expression that gives away a "i feel a little more special today for receiving such courteous behaviour from bloke in nice car" . I love it, but I know their reactions stem from materialistic aspirations rather than pure gratitude.
But... if you happen to be in a 'normal' car, forget it, they will even purposefully look away! "urghhh, im not smiling at you in your puny little car"... You can tell that the ones who do smile are the genuinely nice ones.
I once saw a guy in a Boxter facing the opposite direction from me staring at my s2k intensely with an almost shocked look on his face of what the WTF is that beautiful thing (his gaze was directed at the front arch area which as you know looks amazing from an angle), completely oblivious to me looking directly at him, when our eyes eventually met he put on a snarl expression! WTF does that mean? I felt that this guy was so ignorant that he didnt know what an s2000 was and that it was a lower grade of 'status'. So, he was upset because he felt the S2k trumped him.
This illustrated to me the typical mindset of most sport car owners (regardless of brand)... They have no appreciation for their vehicle beyond the social status symbol. Porche owners get a bad rep because the brand is very popular to those who seek status symbols. I feel sorry for those who can really appreciate the outstanding machine that it is but have to live with the discrimination. Respect if you can do that!
