Apparently, the S2000 and 2.7 987 are identical 0 to 60 mph (6.2 sec) but the S2000 only gets up to 150 mph.

One has Porsche badge and the other is a Honda
They aren't badge snobs of course

And I like the mention from one of them relating to the forum wars

You'll never get a balanced argument regarding a car being beaten by or slower than another on a one-make forum. No one likes to hear that their car is slower than something they deem "beneath" theirs. This will more often than not result in tantrums namecalling and general bullshit being spouted. People will always act like children if their choice of car is called into question.

God forbid anyone should mention that the new Corsa will be as quick as an S2000!

I like Boxsters but the decent ones are the S's and for the price you pay you could get something faster and more exotic like a TVR or something.

Am I right in thinking the latest Boxster S is faster 0-60 than the Cayman ?

Yes and no...... the 987 Boxster S 3.2 IS faster than the 2.7 Cayman but not as quick as the 3.4 Cayman S

I had a Cayman S on loan this week and gave it a good thrashing...... the best 0-60 run we managed was 5.26sec which ain't bad!

The new updated 987 Boxster S gets the same engine as the Cayman S so should be just as quick (in a straight line at least).

P.S. I wave at S2000s sometimes...... old habits die hard!
