Default Brands Hatch GP

BaT BH GP trackday today - what a giggle! I had quite a frustrating day - the car was running appallingly after 3 laps so had to come in - turned out to be running on 2 cylinders - water in the spark plugs

It was a sessioned day so unfortunately I only got the 3 sighting laps in, then missed ther est

Next session was ok, but the last sesion before lunch it cut out mysteriously and I had to coast from the straight where the GP joins the Indy, into the pits - turned out to be the main power cable from the main loom and the shielding had folded back somehow - theory is it earthed somewhere and just killed everything.

Car ran well for the rest of the day

By the end I was "getting there" - missing apexes by a long way but holding my own except for one pesky corner which I never did get the hang of

Racing there in August, can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!

If you get an opportunity to do the GP circuit go for it =- there are some fast cornesr down the back there !

(Excuse bad typing had a long day !)

It was ok - the coolant leak/usage turned out to be a dodgy cap for the header tank, replaced it and all was fine The dripping oil turned out to be from the diff which is apparently normal

The only two issues were the water in the sparks (no idea how that got there which is a bit concerning), and the electrical fault which is hopefully ironed out now.

Possibly from the header I suppose. If there's water in there possible it got in the plugs. You didn't have the head replaced from memory so I wouldn't have thought it would have developed a nice new crack to the water jacket

Hi San I am not sure - what makes somewhere good for bikes?

Did Chris message you yesterday btw, I asked him to ?

Fluffy - I think the water in the plugs might be from where I washed it. I asekd around and apparently it's not uncommon for water from washing the bonnet / engine area to get down there somehow

I suspect it's a bit dicey for bikes. Whilst I've not driven the course, I've seen enough footage to know the arnco looks scarily close to the track in a lot of places. Is that the case Jo?
