I think the images being shown without having the families permission or even consulting them is outrageous.

I have known this done once before to a friend of mine who was involved in a serious accident .... it left him in bits after he saw the pictures of his accident plastered all over the press a few years down the line! And that was an accident - not pictures of someones dead son .... They hadn't asked him and wouldn't apologise when he complained, so this story doesn't - unfortunately - surprise me too much.

I unfortunately see people in bits as part of my job as a direct result of being called to serious collisions - not much fun .... but my choice to do the job I do. Does it make me think about speeding ..... does it make me be more careful to watch the speedo ..... (says he being careful what he types ) . No, I don't think so. Attitude to speeding is far deeper than just showing horrible pictures. It can certainly have it's place but not on it's own and won't work for many.

I feel sad he thinks a couple of images will make the difference - all he has done is upset yet more people in a way that certainly doesn't get the message across that he wants .
