Yep, smaller than last year, ten quid last year,

I guess the fuel tax staying the same is good news too

and good news for the classic vehicles with the introduction of the rolling 40 year free road tax...mmmm I like free road tax

Extra £11 for six months on my MY04, in the current climate I guess I can stomach that!

Rather it was going the other way though! Ah I'm the daydream believer!

You'd expect it to get cheaper (if not free) if you look at how quick the roads are deteriorating

If you bought something in a shop and it was as knackered as that you'd expect your money back too

I reckon the closest that money will come to having anything to do with the roads is paying for stuff like this:

Road fund licensing is blatant racketeering any way. As said none of it goes to road maintenance, even if it did charging based on CO2 makes no sense as that doesn't affect the road, and we already pay a tax/duty premium on emissions on the fuel a car uses which is directly proportionate to how much it pollutes.

Some one that drives a light weight though high emission car a few thousand miles a year paying more than some one driving a huge, heavy, road crumbling diesel monster 20k miles or more is ludicrous but what are we going to do? Object and have our cars confiscated? Refuse to pay the fines and be incarcerated?

No different to a gangster demanding 'protection' money from us and using Mafia tactics to enforce it.
