Default Caliper paint

Not my usual thing but I have some new wheels for the W8 wagon I am fettling (everything from paint to rebuilt gearbox). Those shiny wheels (RS4 reps) and the big discs (334mm on the front) look a little wrong with the weathered calipers. Any recommendations for a make/type of paint? I'm also considering simply brushing them up and lacquering to give a more original finish so lacquer recommendations also welcome.

I used Halfords High Temp exhaust paint. Really low key colour and works well. £6 tin did everything with ease.

I used the halfords stuff, seems fine and is cheap. Prep is key if you need it to last.

Planning on painting mine whilst still on the car (with a brush...) - I don't think I have the technical skill to remove and replace the callipers without cocking something up, and I suppose brakes are pretty important. That said - is it a difficult job? If I could do it, then I'll change my pads at the same time.

Its easy, 2 bolts on the back of the caliper, 2 for the bracket.

Piston needs pushing back (turning back on the rears) and that's it.

Does disconnecting the hoses pose any problems? I don't particularly fancy messing about with bleeding the system at the moment.
