I've seen the dark grey (proper grey), the ladyboy silverblue , white and black in the flesh so far.

Black looks a nightmare to keep looking nice, every swirl and scratch shows up on the cars i've seen. Red looks nice on t'web but are rare, especially 08s. So White is my preference, red second (until i see one) and if the right car was there in black or Grey... there are loads with nasty interior colours (to me! ), paladium silver and fox red are just not nice imho.

the new iDrive was a late late 2009 addition so it's over budget, i'm thinking no more than £30k. you can spot it as they introduced some buttons on the big alloy knob and it's black on the top on the later version.

i'm spending too much time on the web atm, there's no huge rush as i'm getting a new gate sorted for the bottom of the drive first, could be my paranoia as my neighbour has a db9 but i'll sleep easier. it wont fit in my garage, too long as i've got stair access to my office at the back

Good choice.

Still not driven one but all the reviews suggest it's great, and it's just too good an option for the price.

Spiral staircase in the corner?
Easy job for any fabricator.

M-Cars are very cheap right now, you cannot give them away

Go for it Alan (Partridge)

They sound nice, but I can't get over the feeling it's the poorer cousin of an M or AMG. But always worth a test drive.

agreed chilled, i'm trying a manual M3 this weekend but cant find an ISF very close. Depending on nippers behaviour i can maybe drag my arce over to Cheshire where there's one.

not seen one other than in passing in the flesh either.

probably more bulletproof than an M and i cant get a 2010 for 2008 M money (so it IS a poor cousin used)

Well i took the plunge. Could not find as ISF that i liked anywhere near me and the extra weight and the flappy paddles put me off without having tried it

So i pick up a grey 58 plate v8 (woohoo) M3 next week. 16k, sounds lovely and Nina is chuffed as i wont spend my life on the tinternet anymore

Red / Manual?

Would be interested to hear how the manual feels, as I detested the E46 gear change!
