Default In car emergency kit

Was up in the loft a couple of days ago and came across my old camping first aid pouch. After mr foster tried to get photos of a mig 28 in a negative g dive last year it occurred to me maybe I should keep an emergency grab bag in the car. I was wondering if anyone had one, what sort of stuff they kept in it and whether they'd ever had to use it.

I was thinking something along the lines of first aid kit (plasters, pain killers, bandage and the like. Nothing too flash but just some basics). Hi vis/attention attracting stuff (torch, triangle and hi vis jacket for example). Something to provide comfort until suitable response arrives (foil blanket survival bag or similar). Small fire extinguisher.

That kind of stuff

The BMW has a pretty good first aid kit, triangle etc.. but not as comprehensive as you're talking about.

It's only in there as it's standard kit.

The S & the Golf have nothing in them.

Just not something I've thought about particularly.

It probably makes sense, but I guess it shouldn't take too long to the emergency services to arrive, so basic first aid skills (should) suffice.

Fingers crossed....

I'm not a qualified first aider (maybe should do that as much as get the kit) so I'd only be looking for provide comfort type equipment.

Been speaking to the parents this afternoon. Their neighbours son was in a big smash a couple of months ago. Air helicopter, induced coma, both legs broken type bad smash. Could have been a lot worse except 2 cars following had fire extinguishers and put out the fire that had started. Makes you think even more about it
