Default Caught speeding by unmarked car

Tonight i got caught speeding by a unmarked police car, there is a road near my house that passes over the motorway (so no houses near) then leads to a roundabout, then onto the motorway. It was said that i was doing 57mph in a 30mph zone.

Can anyone tell me what might happen? They didnt give me a ticket and I didnt sign anything but did give me a warning because my licence is still registered at my dads house. To be honest id had a really bad day and did not realise it was a 30mph zone.

I have no points and had my licence around 7 years.

Thanks guys

If it was in the 40's then i reckon you'd just get a speed awareness course but since it was 57mph i think you will get some points.

I think because its your first offence in 7 years it will help a little, then again the country is hard up so i think you will get fined providing you a good fellow, professional, have no previous convictions and are not a scum bag.

Very suprised they never gave you a ticket I got done for doing 46 in a 30 got a sixty pound fine and three points got ticket straight away. If you have done speed awareness course once you will no you cannot do it again hopefully you get the minium.

I got caught doing 55 in a 30; not cool. I thought i'd end up with 6 points after reading online that any more than 50 in a 30 is definately 6, was pleasently suprised when the letter came through the post. 3 points and £60 fine.

Means I have 9 more to spend!

Most likely 3 points and a fine.

If the speed awareness course was less than a year ago, you will cop those points too! Least that was what they told me on mine

Let's hope the unmarked car won't report you, there may be some technicality?

There was 3 in the police car and just me on my own also. Do they need to issue a ticket or would she just write the details from my license and it will come though the post? (well to my dads) haha

I think you should receive 6 points and a fine. The officer will more than likely have reported you for the offence, but should have told you what was going to happen.

Just because you had a bad day, it doesn't excuse the fact that you were going extortionately fast for a 30 zone.

The majority of 30 zones are to protect people...engage brain before foot. At that speed, you pose a significant hazard to other road users and pedestrians, regardless of how good a driver you consider yourself to be.

I'm no saint, but that sonny jim, is taking the pi$$...utterly mindless.
