Default Chipsaway

Unfortunately I had to use these people Saturday. My mums next door neighbour decided to avoid a bin and drive into my parked car, how he managed it I will never know as it was parked 30 foot away from his car.

Anyway he knocked on door and told me he would pay for damage. It was just a small dig with a scuff the size of a hand. Anyway I git chipsaway round as I wanted it done straight away. 3 hours later and 130 quid it was fixed. He paid obviously. They have done a great job .

Yeah - I like them as well but it TOTALLY depends on the operator you get.

Fair point. You can buy into it for 30,000 grand and you get all equipment but I was thinking if he needed to work on a Saturday the money can't be great. Say he does 2 jobs a day and gets 300 quid, thats onoly 1500 quid a week (week days) and you need to take tax off that.

Sorry, but Chipsaway et al are absolutely useless for a car you are intending to keep and not sell.

Agree with the operator you get.

The one near Chez Gaspode - wasn't up to scratch..

Had a chip with my Alfa a couple of years ago... not a great repair.

I know someone that had a repair done once by them and was using white spirit to remove tar spots off the paintwork, as soon as he touched the area that had been repaired it came straight off. I think they use a form of cellulose paint rather than a two pack paint that hardens with activator.

Moggy is right, its ok for a repair to sell the car but i wouldn't use them for a long term repair.
