my clio gets cleaned when it goes in for a service, which is about every 20 months.
in 7 years of ownership i think i have cleaned it my self 2 or 3 times

i have cleaned the S once since i got her last march (but she has been off the road from october till last week so guess its not quite so bad )

I have NEVER chamoised a car ever in my life.

In short - i dont clean cars!

the inside i guess gets hoovered every so often, about every year or so.

one advantage a of the cabine in the S, not big enough to get really dirty!

I jet wash my cars once or twice a week. Polishing just isn't worth it except for a few hours during summer before you cover it in flies again.

I quite like to clean/polish the NSX, its the first car that I can reach the otherside of the roof without walking around the car

Spotless cars aren't practical but I do prefer clean ones. I can't tolerate any crap at all on the windows or rear view mirror that drives me nuts.

Cleaning and Toyota Carina dont really go together. I will clean that once the moss gorws over the door locks. But it has got clean windows

Same as my Focus then. Cleaned once in two years. It's not dirt so much as a protective covering. I did wash it out of shame when moss started growing on it though.....

Must be a trend with Foci? not being washed.

I like to have the S clean and sparkly, but the "beater" hasn't been washed since summer, despite being the daily driver and instead of looking black, looks brown

I wonder

if you had two cars for two years from new

one washed and polished weekly/monthly

the other waxed on delivery and then not cleaned at all again

when you prepped both for sale

which would be in better condition?

Thinking the dirt would create a protective layer? Like it.

I do clean under the arches to get rid of road salt. Rust could be an issue.
