Default dc5 track day and prep

so I took the dc5 on track for the 1st time since owning it and wow these things can handle, brakes just keep going and lsd just keeps pulling.

went with a few mates, same guys I went to the ring with last year in my ek9.

Rockingham was the chosen track with its full international circuit open, and skid pan to play with.
open pit lane 9/5 come and go as you please.

anyways i did some prep for its 1st outing, ill let the pics do the talking.

1st job was to ditch the 18s, you can see the famous dc5 parcel shelf in that pic haha.

rear strip plus harnesses

few other bits

full service and comp test while I had the plugs out, shes healthy.

magnetic plugs all round

old stuck to new ^

decat manifold

stripped and cleaned up front brakes, replaced rears. new 5.1 fluid and braided lines.

caliper clearance with 16s

cars already riding on tanable lowering springs

itg induction kit

shes low when jacking now haha

mc stopper, improves brake feel

engine torque damper, ETD

poly engine mount inserts including gearbox box

wanted to get more done but time and money are always major factors.

all parked up at the end of the day

1st place for me lol

179 miles to a full 50L vpower tank lol

and my favourite pic of the day

great track, reminds me of Bedford aerodrome size wise but with the width of Silverstone to play with. its hard on the brakes as your doing 125mph every lap coming off the banking down to 70mph then 30mph for a very sharp left. dc5s have brake cooling ducks from factory so they held up very well, my alloys got so hot though the center caps deformed and poped out in the pit lane garge by them selves lol. won't go back in now too out of shape.

Looks like you had a great day with a track all to yourself!

I like the dc5, honda should've made an R version of the S2000 with decent seats and brakes etc

an type r s2k would of been awesome, didn't they make a type s ?

erm my dc5 was slightly quicker in a straight line and the brakes held out better, handling wise it runs rings round the vr6 but the clio is a good match.

Great write up, I enjoyed that

The type S just had some different suspension config (I read on multiple car review websites that the UK '08 and '09 years had the type s setup) and some areo.

The CR edition in the US would have been great if we had got it

Great day!

I once melted the PC on my S2000's BBS wheels, so your hubcaps don't surprise me.

The DC5 looks tiny next to that Reno Arsecar! I thought they looked bulky next to DC2s once...
