yes.

had my fabia vRS remapped.

allegedly 130bhp with 220ft/lb of torque as standard.

got 175bhp and 300ft/lb after having the car mapped.

felt like a totally different car to drive. power lasts much further up the rev range, and loads more midrange grunt.

is it worth it? hell yes! but just beware you might wear your clutch out quickly if it's not up to the job or it's already very worn.

also the quality of the remap is very important. you don't want something with a massive spike of power that tails off quickly and causes your clutch to slip, you want smooth power delivery.

Yep

I have a Civic diesel 2.2, I've not chipped it but over on the civinfo webite a number of owners have with great results:

Off the production line the car is about 103kW=140HP and 340Nm=250lb-ft

I had a Mits L200 that I fitted a K&N filter and a performance chip.

It was a Mits UK supplied and approved mod and added about 25HP, 115 up to 140. I didn't think it was very noticable but it's a bit of an underpowered tank and was on an old style diesel engine

Most of the L200 owners that did this did not notice a difference but those that were very frugal reckoned that it did make a positive difference as they didn't have to push the car as hard.

Had the mrs Golf done when it was out of warranty. Was a 115hp out of the box and had it taken up to 150 and 300lbft. Mad a massive difference and has had no detrimental effect on reliabilty after 100k of driving. Mpg stayed the same. Next golf will also have the treatment. Go and splash the cash you won't regret it.
