My favourite F-car of all time - I still have the Matchbox model of a Ferrari 250 GT my late father bought me in '66 - so when I saw this amazing 250 GT SWB at Thurlestane on Sunday I had to go for a ride.
I also have to admit to being a little indecisive - it's easy to view these super-cars of yesteryear through rose tinted spectacles - but I wasn't disappointed! V12, 4 litre, 300 bhp (from a 330 GT) and hill-climb gearing - the owner gave it 'some' where the roads allowed.
The sound was simply awesome and the ride (considering it is 50 year-old technology) was superb.

The 'ride' thing was a pertinent comment; that a cartsprung dinosaur car can reveal just how retarded most modern cars have become is a phenomenon that most manufacturers should be reminded of! The quest for 'spurts suspension' and 'big dick-replacement wheels' has ruined most moderns. Try a Citro
