Driver Training?
Anyone know of the options for the north of the country?
It all seems to be southern based.
Thinking Don Palmer/1st Lotus day type event. Its over four years
since I had instruction.
A friend and his Impreza want to make it too this spring/summer.
Russ.

I'm doing Ride-drive in a few weeks Russ. The particular course I'm doing includes half a day driving on the road and half a day on the track - Elvington in York.
There are plenty of courses on offer, you make an enquiry via Ridedrive.co.uk and Julian puts his most local instructor in touch with you. I'm doing course code S03PM -

I really rate Don Palmer, he coaches you which means you learn things your way, rather than instructs you which means you try and learn the way the instructor tells you.
He asks you questions to lead you to the right answers, but because you got there yourself, it all makes more sense than being told to do things a certain way. I remember far more of what Don taught me 4 years ago than any other instructor I've been with.
Oh, and he's a bloody nice bloke too.
I will be doing the 2 day course with Don and Mark Hales when funds allow.
The normal days are only at Bruntingthorpe Russ, it's not far from you really - hour down the M1.

Then stay overnight in a Travelodge nearby. It's easy really, and what lots of us southerners do when we go on trackdays up north.
