I hate everything to do with drum brakes. They look like the most complicated thing since the Subaru Impreza engine.

The drums on my Fiesta I had as a teenager (thankfully the only car I've owned with the horrid things on) used to make the car fishtail at 30mph.

Didn't wind the automatic handbrake adjuster back to its start position.

Oh well first thing in the morning.

D'you know, I cannot remember HTF the auto adjusters work (other than that they don't) and there's leading & trailing shoes.

They always were a PIA.

going to be fitting drum brakes to the race '63 Corvette Stingray i look after as it was never produced with discs for that year .

the powers that be are clamping down on cheat cars so they have to be to homolagation spec so the vented discs will be removed

drums are military spec cryogenically treated so they are denser to dissipate the heat better. there will be big "elephants ears" to direct cold air into the brakes and inside the brakes will be fans to move the air around (ZO6 had these fans and ducts in period )

the 400hp FIA engine i built last year is holding up well, i just hope the brakes will do the same (as long as the adjusters are working properly)

Are you allowed to cut diagonal grooves in the shoes?

Wow they look serious stuff

Adjusted the handbrake adjuster right back this aft but in my rush
to escape the rain I knocked out one of the pistons in the slave
cylinder.
Bollocks, had to bleed the circuit in the rain on Christmas eve
