E36 M3s
I'm thinking about getting a last of the line E36 M3, but not sure if its a sensible decision. It seems a fairly 'pristine' car can be obtained for around 8-11k, like a last off the line 98/99. Mileage is usually 50 - 80k.
Whats the general consensus on drivetrain reliability with these? There's the infamous Vanos issue, but is there anything else to worry about? I know the 3.0 is generally thought to be more robust than the Evo 3.2, but I don't want a car that old.
Also are there good aftermarket warranties available for this specific car? What could I expect to pay?

and their performance is still more than adequate
but I would not pay anything like
Its the Coupe I want. I don't think the others really do justice to the badge.
Had one briefly in South Africa (before it was liberated by previously disadvantaged people), but that was a new car with comprehensive warranty + BMW servicing package.
I'd say if I get one I'll need to budget 1k for a warranty and another 1k for new dampers, possibly discs and pads also.
This looks ok, but I wouldn't touch an SMG, love changing gears too much:

And this is just stupidly priced:

Cheers, I actually meant indo mechanics, but the Independent place looks quite good for buying. Although I'd most likely buy private and save the 2k they seem to add onto every car's price.
