The electric car
Well as the worlds governments are getting more eco friendly, Would it be a fair statement to say that in a few years down the line we could all be ''possibly'' driving electric cars?
Do yee think the four stroke engine will ever be phased out?Like the 2stroke is been phased out in SoCal?
Will i posting here years down the line asking how to increase the wattage of my car as opposed to bhp??
Whats your opinions folks?

Like I said on there...

It's proven possible to make a good, appealing, and usable electric car.

So why aren't people doing it ?

First time iv ever heard of them, they look awesome.Altho if everyone had these cars and were leaving them on charge over night we would still be using a lot of energy wouldnt we??How would the electricity bill equate to the amount of money you spend on petrol??
Indeed they do look awesome. and 0-60 in under 4 secs

Shame about the price tag and the availability.
It is a very good point about where does the energy come from and what's the cost of that to the pocket and the environment.
Batteries are one of the worst things to use afaik if one is trying to be green. so you can't win.
If it's real green required then the Honda Clarity hydrogen car is the next big thing.

But again ... that's only available in California, and still taking far too long to get off the ground
In my opinion, we should have been in a position to replace the internal combustion engine YEARS ago, but someone wasn't keen on making it happen.

And anyway, it's now official that man made climate change is a load of balls.

However I still believe that we need to break the hold that oil has on our transportation, and finally put the old combustion engine technology to death.

Unfortunately i cant see the world ever losing its dependency on oil,its used in almost every manufacturing process.I dont believe its the lack of oil thats the problem its the cost of extracting it
I think the only real electric car that would conserve energy will be solar powered,Wouldnt be worth squat here tho for all the sunshine we get

i too cant wait for electric vehicles to be brought out publicly. however i think that it would be another 5-10years before i could afford anything electric and would have to wait for them to be avail second hand.
my biggest problem is how to recharge non-fossile powered vehicles. batterys are heavy and not very eco-friendly, fuel cell requires hydrogen and im sure it wont be available at forecourts in the sticks where they are most probably needed.
we need the gov'ment to spend all our taxed beer tokens on implimenting alternative fuel solutions, and make car manufacturers more willing to release those cars.
edit: we need a mini fusion reactor to produce the power
