European Road Trip
So refreshing to come across such an entertaining beautifully written thread. I know your European trips are legendary and I have thoroughly enjoyed your latest account complemented with such excellent pictures.
I know lots of people have said that you should write a book. If you did I would definitely buy it.
You car looks brilliant with the sunflowers as a backdrop.

I think you should plan and lead a wee European road trip for some of us who want to do it but don't have a clue where to start/go Dave

Day 15 Lens to Home - 390 miles
Up early today for the 7am departure. It's an easy drive to the Chunnel from here, about 70 miles on the autoroute.
We arrive home mid afternoon; the end of another excellent Euro tour. I'm really beginning to struggle for new roads to drive, having done a lot of touring over that last 10 years. We have enjoyed re-visiting some places on this trip, and having a bit more time to take it all in.
Highlights were -
Susten snow blizzard
Nufenen Pass
Klausen Pass
Stelvio (3rd visit, still love it)
Goletto delle Crocette (NATO base)
The Ferraris
Lake Iseo
As always - The Alps
Mileage = 2912
Most miles in one day = 595
Fuel =

Mikey - 595 miles was the first day proper (not including the Friday when we drove down to Ashford).
The trip was 16 days in total; 13 driving days (averaging 224 miles per day) and 3 none driving days. Remember tho, we did 890 miles in the first 24hrs.
