Disappointing.

Wonder who they'll get in instead.

It certainly was going to be an interesting twist to this year's championship. I'd bet on him winning a race too. Very disapointing.

I guess it'll be Gene now.

I know that he has neck problems, but I wonder if he wasn't as quick as he thought in the car with replica downforce levels

Either way that is massively disappointing. Also not good for Ferrari - Who's going to develop next years car? Raikkonen's not arsed, and will be off at the end of the year, the only consistency (unless they get Alonso earlier) would be one of the test drivers.

A disappointing anticlimax (as if there is any other type)

Give someone else a chance to prove themselves in a half decent F1 car. I remember Mika Salo giving his career a boost when he stood in for Schumacher after a nasty crash at Silverstone.

They've announced Badoer for Valencia, who last raced in F1 10 years ago for Minardi.
