Facelift model Boxster / Boxster S
Test drove an 04 Boxster S at the weekend and forgot to ask the service interval. Also, it's from a non-Porsche dealership so they won't know the service costs.
Anecdotal evidence is that at service time, you simply walk into a Porsche dealer, pull down your trousers and pants and let them rodger you. Before taking the plunge I'd much prefer to evaluate it in monetary terms
Anybody here owned (or own) one and can offer a view?
Thanks
Ray

Don't forget that the Boxster is quite unreliable, and is very expensive to fix when it goes wrong (due to inaccesibility of the engine) so you'll need to factor that in to your running costs. Things are so bad that Warranty Direct won't even provide a warranty, so make sure you get the Porsche one.
I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say it's "quite unreliable" but it's certainly not as rock-solid as some might think. Rear main oil seal is a recurrent problem - not a big issue (just a bit of oil seepage) but it can cost
The only real issues have been RMS failure.
I had a 987s from new in May 05 to March 07 and had the rms done under warranty. The car never missed a beat and was a joy to drive. I had a 20k mile service done and it cost
