Further to my thread 'FFS':

On 23 August Mrs P's Honda Insight was reversed into by a neighbour, the parts for the car eventually arrived from Japan only recently and it was repaired in late October; and Mrs P collected the repaired car on 6 October. This was only a few months after a knock to the rear when Mrs P was waiting at a roundabout and only ONE WEEK after the car had been in for some remedial paint to the front to remove stone chips...

Imagine Mrs P's utter delight when last Thursday evening, whilst stationery and awaiting to turn right into a junction that another inattentive/distracted woman driver ploughs her car into the back of the Insight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thankfully - once again - no one was injured.

The perpetrator had two kids in the back of her car.

The Insight has sustained another broken rear diffuser, cracked rear bumper cover, smashed rear fog light, bent bumper support bar and a crease to the boot floor.

The estimate for the repair is a cool £781.87.

This is now three incidents in which the Insight has been damaged by women drivers.

Mrs P is far more sanguine than I in such circumstances but is beginning to wonder if the car is cursed...

... I am wondering if its low height and mid-grey colour make it invisible to other women drivers.

We're now thinking do we fit a Sinclair C5-style hi-viz mast, flag and anti-collision beacon to the Insight, or replace it with a Chevy Suburban with Smitty-Bilt triple tube bumpers...

There is another round of this to come when people climb out of cars with crash sensor braking systems and get in a normal car and then rely on a system that is no longer present.

FFS Mark, it does seem like if it wasn't for bad luck...

I presume an ally floor can be tugged straight, or does it need heat?

Good luck with the repair. Has the dealer ordered the Long Weight yet?

Unfortunate in the extreme. Is Mrs P a safe driver?
