Default Fisker Karma

The Fisker Karma had never hit my radar until I recently watched a film called 'In order of disappearance', and it came to my attention; it was the car of one of the main mobsters.

It was a hybrid, with a 2.0l turbocharged 4 cylinder range-extender. A rather nice looking car, albeit it does have many Aston Martin and Maserati Quattroporte cues.

A pity the company has gone bust. There's one on eBay for £45,900, if anyone fancies a punt...

I'd rather have a Tesla (than pretty much anything actually!)

Tesla Model S is fabulous... Apart from the Eurobland styling.

Sophisticated styling appears to be the first casualty of the focus groups, even for innovative cars; it's either anonymous and bland or OTT for the sake of it.

This was Toyota's concept for its new Prius...

But it now looks like...

I was behind a Model S last week on the commute crawl. Initially I thought it was a Jag, then I saw the boot badge and the driver exert the 0-60 elecy power when the traffic moved. Jaw dropped!

The first one is no good for rear passenger access and the boot would be too small - essentials for taxis, which represent a big part of the customer base.

As for the Fisker, James May did an interesting review of the car on Top Gear (without the Top Gear Silliness), which you can find here: http://www.streetfir...t-1_2377084.htm

Hatchback. And the rear door access doesn't look a lot worse than a friend's XJ.

There's the Prius+ for taxi work.

Tell that to the thousands of taxi drivers using the standard model!
