Default Fixed Penalty Notice

Passed a police car earlier who crained and noticed i had no front plate on the car.

Sometime later he's stuck an FPN under my wiper (in the rain) with a load of incorrect details on (saying my car is silver for a start, twat). and time was "from 18:00-19:00". WTF.

This was under the wiper and not handed to anyone. I had a numberplate in the window he was in a queue on the right of me so he wont have seen that.

Just pay it?
Throw it away? (wasn't given to me)
go protest?

Oh just to add. In filling out the form they have blatently LIED for half the tickboxes because how do they know the driver had a full license etc? They don't even know who the driver is (its not registered to me). The HORT/1 bit says "driver present" well I wasn't - they stuck it under wiper. So surely he's breaking the rules?

I've also never heard of a "Honda 2000"

more than enough mistakes to mount a challenge IMHO but do you really want to drag yourself to court for the day?

Keep it but don't pay, and when questioned say you thought it was a joke, as it was so amateur in it's appearance

Sorry, not sure what the score is with these.

Challenge it, plenty of mistakes in my mind, if he cant even see it is silver, how can you be sure he didnt spot the numberplate on the front?

Yep, given today's date and the number of mistakes, just say you thought it was an April Fools.

I would just pay it and avoid going to court as the judge will probably favour the glorified tax collector. If you fail to pay within the period a sum of one and half times the amount of the penalty may be enforced against you as a fine. Then after the suspended enforcement period they will bring proceedings against you anyway so whats the point. The copper has already shown a propensity to lie, so what is to stop him from the doing the same if the matter goes further.

Stopped tonite by the said twat.

He is about my age, and started going on about such a nice car for someone of my age.

And how if it wasnt fixed immediately he would report me and get me 6 points.

Said he will come round tomorrow and check it. Also said he will be "following me round to make sure i keep it on".

Then the bird with him started going on how if i keep plate on if it gets nicked i will stand some chance of getting it back. I said i dont want it back if nicked and the guy started going on about how i must have too much money..

Speak to his sergeant and mention that he's harrassing you, perhaps out of jealousy.

I like to wind guys like him up, by going on about how much money I have. Before I just used to headbutt them, but I've learned from that.

Obviously got a chip on his shoulder, hardly surprising given that he's a rozzer.

I would think carefully before reporting him, if he knows who you are you can expect lots more harrassment if you do.

My mate is dealing with it tomorrow (he's high up in traffpol). Apparently i was right he can't issue it without giving it me in person.

Gonna have a word with his inspector.

AND i am fine to have the plate in the window till i find a shorter one I want to buy.
