Default Fog lights a growing trend?

I see more and more people with their fog lights on, in clearly non-foggy weather. Is this a growing trend?, do folk who have their foglights on genuinely cant see?, or do they feel it somehow gives them a sporty/rally like edge?

Apart from sometimes blinding me, whats the point in non fog like weather?

No point, can be done by the rozzers for it too.

What makes my BLOOD BOIL is people who drive at night, in the pitch black with side lights and fog lights on and NOTHING else... no dips. Just sidelights and/or fogs.

Grrrrrrrr!

It's hardly anything new.

There are a just a lot of tools on the road.

Plod is supposedly keen to clamp down on this. Hopefully, more on the spot fixed penalty notices will ensue

It is meant to be illegal but I've never heard of anyone ever being done for it, which is a shame as it annoys me as well.

More often than not I see people at night driving along with every light they have turned on. It's like they get in the car and turn on every switch they can find.

But it looks kool though rite innit!!!!

It fecks me off too, especially as we're lower to the ground and therefore more prone to fog light blinding. What also does it for me is the rear fog light. There seems to be a belief that the more red light you have showing at the back of the car, the less likely you are to be rear ended

But when are fog lights day-time running lights...

As of 2011/2012 DTRLs are to be mandatory EU-wide IIRC, so it might just be some forward-looking types getting used to switching them on now.

I find the two huge spots on the Hilux are useful to inform people their fogs are on ..

I think its less of a problem now than say 5 years ago, and my thinking is that more and more cars have auto lights, which suits lazy people quite well but you cant operate fog lights when you have the lights set to auto. So that means you have to manually switch to side/dipped lights, then switch on fogs which i reckon probably puts a lot of people off... which is definitely a good thing!

I dont really see a problem with them AJ, to be honest most cars fitted with HID lights are much brighter than front fogs anyway If I do make it up at the weekend, I will be sure to put them on for you for a comparison LOL
