Default Is it foolish...

...to consider buying a car that has had an engine replacement?

I've found a beautiful-looking, cherished CTR near me that has had a new engine 12k miles ago.

The replacement was required due to a fault with the original and all work was carried out under warranty and performed by HUK.

The new engine has apparently run without fault since then. It has a FHSH.

The main point is, should the fact a vehicle has had its engine replaced affect the value of a car in a negative way?

OR would it put other buyers off due to the car not being 'as it left the factory'?

OR is it adding 'perceived' value due to having a newer lump and lower miles?

Cheers for any opinions...

Can't say it would put me off, so long as the reason was provable and the engine history was visible.

p.s. my avatar is better. Pr0nstar avatars are the future.

hmmm, Tera Patrick...

Good call. As long as I see documents to prove the work, it seems like a good idea! Would it negatively influence the value too?

It might put some people off, but I can't see why it should affect the value as long as you can satisfy yourself that the problem that caused the engine to go in the first place has been addressed. Assuming it was a problem with the engine itself (as opposed to something that has remained on the car and might cause it to go again), I wouldn't be concerned.

On one analysis, it's arguably worth more since it has a newer engine with less wear.....

That's my justification as to why it is a bit of a bargain!

BB: Nah, it's Roselyn Sanchez from the worst film i have ever seen: Boat Trip

Shocking arsehole of a film but > this < and > this < made the whole painful experience worthwhile!

> this bit wasn't so bad either! <
