i've never been a fan of aids (driving aids), but be interesting to see the outcome if this on such a power car.

end of the day it's still only got 4 wheels on the road.

well that sucked.

apparently you cant drive the R8 without the aids turned off.
apparently it's undriveable on the edge with TC, ABS and all the electronic help off.

once of the most useless airtime reviews i've seen, and the most pointless threads too!

does that mean the rs4 is also undrivable without computers and stuff?

in fact any powerful car is undrivable without computers?

I'd look at it this way. he likes of the R8 were designed from the outset to have all the driver aids and therefore compromises have been made in the design to that end.

Turn them off and expect trouble.

A similar thing would be the Eurofighter, which we're told would be unflyable without the computers sorting everything out.

On the other hand, something like an Elise was designed from theputset to have no driver aids (not even ABS or power steering IIRC) and is therefore much more manageable.

One also has to take into consideration the incredible power of these modern supercars. An S2000 has similar performance to supercars of old like an E-Type Jag or a Ferrari 328. Modern supercars have similar power outputs to the most powerful racing cars from those days, car which could only be driven fast by the most able of drivers.

Now, anyone with a bit of money can go out and buy a 400/500/600bhp car, and to prevent those people from hurting themselves or anyone else, the driver aids are necessary.
