Default Gap Insurance

Can anybody recommend gap insurance to me? I have been quoted £399 from Honda but have seen I can get it much cheaper directly from the net. Any suggestions or advice? (It will need to cover outstanding finance)

Thanks

I had the AA gap insurance when I bought my Yamaha R1 brand new.

IIRC cost me £200 for 3 years cover. Bike was 9 grand new.

Well worth it IMO as I smashed the bike up and it was declared a write off.
I got a payout of £6500 for the bike from my insurers and then sent off all the needed paperwork to make my gap claim and they ended up paying out a further £2700. Looks like when I sent my purchase invoice to the GAP people, they took the price I paid on the day as the amount to pay out to me (which included the GAP insurance rather then just the purchase price of the bike ).

My claim was also 5 months after the accident and they were still cool with it.

Lombard quoted me 12.95/mth and the Gap shortfall limit was 15k.
The advantage of using them is it can be paid for monthly and cancelled when you want. They will do it as a stand alone policy. In the end I used a dealer specific policy as I got a discount on a 3 year policy and the gap cover was 20k.
If its a new car you are getting check with your insurers as with mine I get a like for like replacement if the car is a total loss in the 1st year.
They will also only cover the invoice price and not the list price so with my car I will be stuffed as I got an 8k discount unless I can negoitiate that again.

I used honda RTI GAP.

rti- return to invoice.

Very nice insurance policy but they were not very good at arguing value of the car after a write off ( not MY s2k btw), not that it really matters!
