It was very - they alternated through the day the British and French anthems.

The display in front of Goodwood house was visually disappointing until you realised it was a huge accoustic arch designed to broadcast the singing Renault engine.

All rather more complicated than just varying the rev's - fuel / air mix had to be played with amoungst other things which escape me at the moment.
