Would absolutely love an NSX but they are silly money and you can get a lot of something else for £25 - £30k

What an nsx will give you is a rate of return equal to a bank at the least if you are wise and likely a lot more. And fun on the way.

Shove 30 in other things and it's more dangerous if you are worried about losing it.

This seems an opportune moment to post one of my favourite video's of the NSX - the driver fellow seems to know what he's doing.....

Only true if you think the market will keep motoring as it has

You wont get a good one for anywhere near £30k will you?

When a car becomes an asset, it stops being a car and you stop driving it. As said, NSXs are now in the 'asset' level which is why I would never have one.

It's *always* a car by virtue of its wheels and engine

Whether you treat it as an asset or a mode of transport or a toy, it's always a car

The market for rare and good will always be there. Some 30s but the good ones will be higher.

I think a Type R would be over £100k now.

Ian, I always find that video interesting. The way he pumps the throttle at the apex is as he described how he managed to get the best from the big turbo F1 cars by getting it to spool up early. Pumping the throttle gets some combustion which gets the exhaust gas going. Unusual technique on an NA car and I always wondered if it was a habit from turbo days or just the technique he used to assess grip levels.
