Goodwood
I'm doing a track day at Goodwood in a few weeks, it's the first time I've been to a 'new' circuit for ages and I'm quite looking forward to driving somewhere unfamiliar.
I understand it's a very fast circuit so a good opportunity to stretch the Caterham's legs - I don't think I've got into 6th since I've had the new engine.
Any comments or advice?

It's a 'loud' day, 105db!!
Goodwood IS very picky. mainly 'cos of old gits who moved to new homes within earshot of the circuit and complain on a daily basis of the noise.
Brilliant ciruit, recently re-surfaced.
Don't do what many do, turn up and think you are an ace driver and can learn the circuit and get max times withing a few laps.
Ensure you get a resident professional, they are all very helpful, to sit with you for a few laps. With their guidance you will circulate quicker and quicker and then be let loose on your own. A great learning curve if you'll pardon the pun!
Some tips:
Don't think Madgwick & Fordwater the first 2 corners, are as easy as they look - listen carefully to your instructor.
St Marys WAS a bugger, slightly off-camber on the exit and a blasted hollow to follow - but have not driven the circuit lately so all may now be easier.
REAL satisfaction is taking the double apex Lavant in one line and then getting correctlty lined up for the slightly unsighted Lavant straight.
Dare yourself for how late you can brake for Woodcote.
Slow in and not too soon on the throttle out of the Chicane - get this wrong and you give the spectators a good laugh.
Say a thank you to the marshalls - they get a pittance, little impresses them so don't try, and they have to endure all weather conditions and the many prats who THINK they can drive.
Enjoy
ps I reckon you will only snatch 6th on the Lavant straight, which as you will see is not that straight.

Yep, I'm not green any more but I'm not immune from making mistakes either
The noise limit for most of my races is 105db and it's always way under that, it would be marginal on a lot of track days but 105 is LOUD! Quite looking forward to seeing what turns up
I nearly always take advantage of tuition, especially on a new track

It's a lovely circuit, one of my favourites. Atmospheric, fast, scary. Slightly modified Catherhams will reach terminal speed (or close to it). Trickiest corners are no-name and taking St Mary's at speed.
What's the driveby noise limit for the day, the driveby is the one most people get picked up on. It may be worth coming prepared with a baffle or enough scrap and tools to rig one up.

to your 6th gear - the only time I've used 5th is at Bruntingthorpe and I don't have 6th
