Default GTR's real power

Seems like GTR owners are getting a few extra BHP for free

Power does seem to vary a bit, and the UK ones are getting a few more than US cars.

The "gearbox" thing is on about every post on any GTR related forum or You Tube thing. I tire of it now

It's basically about half a dozen straight line merchant yanks who have thrashed the hell out of them until they went pop. Nissan should share some blame for putting a launch button on there - 500 bhp off the line has to go somewhere!

Clarkson mentioned on topgear that the claimed power output was probably very conservative and that most were probably making over 500bhp..

Agree with MB about launching, surely it should have a limit on the number launches.. IIRC i'm sure the E46 M3 launch control on the SMG box could only be used 'X' amount of times in between services...?

Yes, the SMG launch feature invalidated the warranty after so many launches, same with the GTR.

Until of course they issued the revised software in which case you're allowed to do launches with VDC off.

Every car has early features.

They have indeed modified it for UK cars now Mr Chilled

You can use Launch Control as long as the VDC is on, and keep your warranty. They managed to keep the 0-60 at 3.2 seconds too, which is nice

Back to the power though, there are a couple of companies (Ecutek and Cobb) who will get around 550 bhp from the car with a remap

Mine will get decatted straight away - just for the sound alone!

You have to mod this beast even before you get it, don't you

Nissan Cambridge get a tester/demo car in April

And they reply to my email in 10 mins

I really can't see the point of LC.

Am I missing something?
