Default H4 bulbs

I'm looking to upgrade the bulbs on my daily beater, what do you recommend, Philips X-Treme, Osram Night Breaker or A.N. Other make?

I don't want anything too blue, yellow, a melted loom or a dash full of warning lights!

Cheers,

mattlad

Doesn't make any real difference; H4s are usually shit.

That's why I went for projectors on the old H1/H4 Hondas, thus allowing HID without looking like/being a total cunt. Though in fact, the 'Lude's H1s were pretty good to start off with.

We sold lots of the two you mention, we stocked whatever was cheapest at ordering time, both get good reviews so "ya pays yer money and makes yer choice" didn't bother with cheap versions or the uber expensive as folk want{get} what we wanted them to have.

I've used the osram neck burners. Good improvement compared to stock bulbs.

Think I got the Osrams years ago when I first bought the S. Remember it being a massive improvement over what was in there before. Find them pretty good now to be honest.

Never found an lamp replacement that is as bright as HID unless you uprate the output to 80W/100W or 80W/130W - that's what is in the Aygo and the S2000 has 130W in the high beam. Your only other option is many spotlights

With only about 29 BHP, I'd be a bit concerned on the alternator drag on that...
