I remember when I used to lust after one of these conversions

Quite difficult to get handling well with all that weight up front IIRC and it takes a bit more than slapping on a suspension kit.

That is going to be a seriously quick in a straight line, totally unsuitable for a new driver

I've got a soft spot for Novas! I used to own a 1.2 carb merit. Took it out and put in a 130bhp cavalier lump. Konis all round and astra GTE discs all round. Torque steer was a biatch! Used to snake all over the road.

This really isn't good parenting. I really hope it goes for a walk before anything bad happens.

Unfortunately I think Bada may be right.

Hopefully he'll stack it without consequence.

He probably won't respect the power until he does.

When I was in the 6th form a guy in the year above me had a Porsche 944 for his 18th birthday, and that all ended in tears.

It was national news. Not the kid's fault as much as the parents for allowing it to happen.

The prosecution said Nijjer was trying to complete a circuit around the school along residential streets in a 30mph zone.

He was travelling at a speed of up to 70mph - when he lost control of the Porsche.
Not the kid's fault at all. Of course not.

I'm not advocating his driving at all. But giving an 18 year-old a 3 litre turbocharged convertible is tantamount to giving him a loaded gun.
