Hi speed crash by Lewis but looks like a tyre faillure or suspension problem.

Huge crash.
I'm sure that some people would have been pleased to see him hit the barriers. Probably a sense of disappointment when they saw it was a mechanical failure.

A defect with right front air gun in the pits meant that the wheel was not on tight.
Good news that he is not injured - just shaken it seems but too early to tell if he will race tomorrow.

Well he is leading the drivers championship and he is British so that counts for lots when you think of our other "heros" in the race - Button, Davidson and Coulthard, Lewis in his first season has probably scored more points than all of them put together for many years.

Just a thought though, there was a long wait for any marshalls, do they not all attend on qualifying days even though cars are going at race speeds.
