Default Hard work selling a car at the moment

As a few of you may have noticed I'm trying to sell my Integra at the moment

Even at an extremely low price I'm getting no serious offers.

No-one has even asked to view it.

Looks like these cars are worth more in parts now than as whole cars, which is a real shame.

I know a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay, but I am really suprised by the lack of response despite advertising on the Type R forums

This is pretty much the cheapest Integra for sale at the moment.

It doesn't bother me massively, I have a PX price of £250 less than I'm asking for it, which will mean that I've lost only around £500 in 28 months/20k miles, so I have no problem with taking it to the dealers in 10 days time and swapping it for my new car. Just thought someone would be interested at the price for a fun beater or a superb track car.

Had a few jokers come in with crazy low offers, but nothing else

It looks like the 'bear trap' upswing in sales of everything has ended; cars, houses; you name it.

The chancers are the only ones left playing.

I had similar difficulties trying to sell my 2 wheeled VTEC (VFR) last Autumn, despite more than factoring the time of year and some cosmetic damage into the price. Hardly any interest on ebay and the VFR forum - ended up holding on to it in the interim.

Normally these bikes sell pretty well if sensibly priced.

Neil, I don't think you are advertising it at a bargain price and clearly neither does anyone else.
It has plenty of mileage and plenty of bits to sort out and I would take the part-ex offer in a heartbeat.
I did one skim of the ad and thought "overpriced" for what it is.
Happy to delete this post if you want me to and I've only written it because you asked the question.

No that's fine Pete. I'd agree to some extent - it is a lot of money for an old tin box Honda.

My price is based on the value given to me in PX and Breakers wanting to buy the car. There are clearly £5k+ of parts on this car if a breaker is prepared to drive up from the South coast to Newcastle to collect it.

The PX value is a true one, as the dealer did the deal on my new car as a cash deal then we talked about the Teg and he offered to get a price from a dealer who specialises in such things.

I suspect I will end up PXing it, and I won't feel hard done by in any way. Just thought it was interesting.

you've only lost £500 in 2 years so either way seems a good deal. i would let the dealer take it as you'll have no probs that way in terms of doing a deal, test drives etc

On the other hand....

My 3.0L V6 Alfa GTV sold in a week (to the first viewer) and I had 4 people interested. All interest generated by a Pistonheads advert.

I was really expecting it to take ages to sell due to fuel price coupled with a large engine. All my potential buyers wanted a weekend toy.

My S2000 took a few weeks to sell.

The market is odd sometimes.

I'm in the same position!

Looks like I'll have to part the car out, but even then there is a chance it won't sell even when standard. Although modifications do limit the market.

Ho-hum!

Gad was right - overpriced. Expectations suitably lowered and it's now gone.

Total loss on car £630 over 27/28 months. And a bit more cash off the Beemer for not giving him the hassle of the PX.
