Default Honda Dealers

I recently bought a new Honda Civic Type R GT from Lookers Honda, Southport

And the service is absolutely fecking woeful

Firstly, when purchasing the car I identified a small dent in the n/s door

This was not fixed on delivery when I was promised it would be and therefore a return trip is required to see the dent man

The car was not cleaned properly (or had been valeted by Stevie Wonder)

The wrong mats had been fitted (some nasty, cheapo Civic ones)

The locking wheel nuts are not new, they are rusty and pitted (new ones are boxed and only fitted at PDI)

I was having to call them repeatedy to sort these issues and getting nowhere

So, today I paid them a visit

I got some new locking wheel nuts, or so I thought

I got home and discovered that I had been a box of ordinary wheel nuts and a locking key

Presumably they have a car at the dealership with some nice new locking nuts and no key because I have it (And no, the rusty nuts on mine haven't been changed)

Some staff are rude, nonchalant and arrogant

I also bought a new Beemer yesterday

And the dealers were excellent

Poor service I'll agree

However car salesmen are the same the world over...

From painful experience, I would have rejected it at this stage. Once you've got the car and paid the money they don't care. It goes for all car sales, main dealer makes no difference, they'd all sell their own grandmother for a sale IME.

You would think that in today's economic climate that salesmen should be doing their best to please clients and build up a repeat business base, I was taught this right away, but it seems to be cash today and feck tomorrow.

On a (very small) positive note

The dealer has just dropped off some new locking nuts to my house

Or then again, I could be cynical and say that really he needed back the locking key and standard nuts that I was given yesterday

Presumably he has a car at the dealership and no key for the locking nuts

So, to reiterate

LOOKERS HONDA SOUTHPORT

Useless, incompetent and awful to deal with

And the sales staff tell more lies than Ken Dodd

I found sales to be ok, as you would expect, soon as i'd bought the car, they couldn't give a feck.

In my eyes, the only reason people buy Honda's is because their cars are good and probably will not break, if they do forget it.

They need to take a leaf out of BMW/Audi/Porsches book and understand what service actually means.

At the end of the day an S2000 is an expensive car that people compare to other premium brands, the car is as good and thats where it stops.

I will without doubt be buying another German* car next.

* read Porsche.

I guess from reading all the threads on here I've been lucky. I've never once had an issue with the service department at Arnold Clarke in Stockport, always receiving nothing but the best service from them for my Civic VTiS, CTR and now S2000. Just hoping I'm not tempting fate since mine is in for it's 24 month service tomorrow.

Audi (VAG) are beyond useless - pretty much all of them!

BMW and Porsche are goog on the whole.
