Default Honda owners in Reading

Looks like there will be a new Honda dealership in Reading.

A Cloverleaf Honda is being built on the site of a demolished warehouse on Rose Kiln Lane. Looks quite swish.

That is all...

I received a letter from them about 4 weeks or so ago to tell me they're moving. It's right next to the Audi dealership on the busy A33 relief road. I hope this doesn't mean more sales of S2000.........

They were meant to move in by the 1st April, but because the project has over run the dealership has had to move out of their old building on the Bath Road to a temporay site with Jagaur, Land Rover & Aston Martin near M4 junc 11 on the A33.

Not been past the site recently but it was still a shell when I last saw it a couple of weeks back Fingers crossed that the new building means new (more competent) staff, but I doubt it

Being semi competent in the first place would help.

BTW - saw you pull into B&Q on Sat afternoon.
I was in the beater and about 3 cars ahead.

A new dealership in Reading! I haven't driven down the A33 in ages, and having only just bought my S, knew nothing about this!

So just how incompetent were the staff? Should I not bother taking my S there for all it's servicing needs?

I'm also not too far from Maidenhead Honda. Has anyone had experience of these guys servicing an S?

I found with the Reading tech guys they were more than just a bit condescending towards me when I told them something about the car which they had never heard about. They chipped the paint on my painted calipers (yes I know it's a bit pikey), and the cap it off they ordered a new O2 sensor without asking me first and got pissy with me when I didn't want it because I could get that same part for

I had Reading change my roof due to the wear issue. They managed to scratch the paint & knock the rear tow-eye off.

The tow-eye worried me the most as I had paid to get it bonded into the bumper and sprayed; got fed up with it dropping out. The effort / force that must have been applied to get this to fall off is concerning. Not quite as bad as the fact it was then superglued back on upside down!

In fairness, they are paying to get it all sorted, so top marks there for them. Also have had no problems with my recent service & the replacement of the roof catches which started rattling post the new roof; why these couldnt have been changed with the new roof is a mystery to me.

Richie down there seems a good chap whenever I have dealt with him, although Ascot are my favourites.

Jamie, were you at B&Q over the Bank Holiday also? Saw a yellow with hard-top & MY04 wheels; knew it must have been someone on here due to the wheels being updated? Had left my S behind as needed to buy some curtain poles which werent going to fit.

Hmmm... so a bit of good and a bit of bad for Reading Honda. It's worrying the damage that has been done to your cars - suggests a lack of care in the attitude of their technicians!

I may have to see how far Ascot are from me. I'd much prefer to go straight to a dealership who've been recommended to me! I'm really looking for hassle-free servicing as my other car is a Ford!!
