Default Hungarian Grand Prix

Hilarious outburst by Alonso costing him 2 seconds addition to his qualifying time today.....

Will they fill him up and try to get to 11th?

What a cock...

Reminds me of Kevin Keegan...I'd love it etc,etc....

He really needs to get a grip:

Hungarian Grand Prix stewards have penalised world champion Fernando Alonso for an incident involving Red Bull

Only now are people realising just what a petulant little boy Alonso is, certianly not World Championship material.............I remember another outburst of his at Monaco one year. He claimed Ralf Schumacher slowed in the tunnel during a safety car lap. Alonso went to over take, and slammed into teh wall. On the next lap, with Alonso by the side of the track, with a smashed car, he's swearing at Ralf going by, doing 150mph+

Kn00ber!!

I can understand the anger because they are all competitive and full of adrenaline but it depends how they control it IMO. Remember that we mortals get angry when held up by lane hoggers on the motorway.

*AS wasn't very good when he was younger and Alonson does now do a lot better and is still a great driver and he will learn to do the same.* I just hope it is sooner rather than later and he finds a way to channel his anger/rage into his focus to beat them on track because there is no better feeling when you do.

Edited for my error.

Rahul, putting aside for just a moment our recent run ins, what evidence do you have to back this up. I recently read a book by Steve Matchett based around the Benetton team and from the day of his arrival Schumacher was leaps and bounds ahead of all of the other drivers within his team.

Now I'm not MS fan, so am not trying to stick up for the chap, but all the evidence I've seen seems to say the opposite of what you're stating.

As for Alonso, he's young and is boiling over from the constant pressure from Ferrari catching Renault up as the season progresses. I agree he'll settle down a bit once he matures a little, but for now it makes things a little more interesting

p.s Paul, cheque is in the post today

I can't see him mellowing tbh. There's no room for hot headedness in F1. Those guys have to be able to trust the other drivers around them, and there will be doubts in some drivers minds this weekend about Alonso.

They need to make an example of him. And the best way to do that, is to take points away from him.

Maybe he really is too young to handle the success. He's looked pretty second rate to Fisi in the last few races, and obviously things have been getting to him. I guess having a big lead at the start of the championship means he has everything to lose, and he's losing it, and that would test anybody. Plus he's off to McLaren next year, and assuming the same performance as this year, Alonso is probably worried that this is his last chance for a while.

Assuming McLaren don't have race winning pace next year, I wouldn't be suprised if his lacklustre performances continue. MS and Alonso are similar in that they can dominate when everything goes right, but sometimes seem to be nowhere as soon as things go against them.

I dont know how anyone can say that Alonso isn't 'World Championship material'...total bollocks....he won it fair and square last year. OK, Kimi's car helped him greatly, but he did everything he had to do, and this year he has shown it wasnt a simple 'flash in the pan'.

He is still young, he doen need to control his emotions, but, he cares, and shows it....he wants to win and he is Spanish, so by definition, emotional. Sometimes we brit's see this as a sign of weakness, something to be sneered at. How often, however, do you hear Brits critisising our sportsmen for not caring, not showing enough emotion??????

I agree with Rob re. Michael - from day 1 in F1 at Jordan, Team Managers, engineers etc. where impressed by how calm, methodical and knowledgable he was. He has always had a slight weakenss under pressure, but that is not greater or less now than it ever was IMHO.

He deserves the slap on the wrist for what he did. Probably beginning to believe his own publicity a bit so he needed to be pulled up. (No worse than what Schui got for the Monaco thing.) Plus it should ensure that Ferrari catch up some more in the championship which can't hurt ticket sales for the next few races!!!
