Hybrid Cars
Probably not a good topic for a petrol head board like this - but I had a ride in one of these Hybrid cars - the technology is pretty impressive to say the least - and it's probably what we all end up driving eventually to meet emission laws and fuel consumption targets.
The car I was in was Toyota Prius which the driver claimed could do 85mile to the gallon (around town!). And it looks like a normal modern car - rather than the Gerry Anderson styled Honda 2000 Insight.
A link is a bit techno geeky but you might have to get familiar with this sooner than you think.

There was an article in Auto Express that said the next generation NSX would be a hybrid - a petrol V6 driving the rear wheels, and two in-wheel motors driving the fronts for city and full throttle driving. Looked impressive - as long as they can keep the weight down.
