Proabably becuase its an insurance group 20*? and the rarity and nature of the car as opposed to others?

The S isnt the fastest car for what insurance group it is but its classed as group 20.

A boxster S is cheaper to insure than an S2000. My M3 is cheaper to insure if it's got a tracker on.

Indeed.

My insurance for the 55-plate, NSX-T with Tracker was basically the same as my S2000!

They're both in the max. insurance group, but the 'expensive' cars are less likely to be everyday cars, one might presume.

S2000 insurance is ridiculously high, but reflected by the amount of claims against it...

Was the excess any different? I suspect you already have a large excess which means that the insurer's loss won't differ that much for relatively minor claims.

Theft isn't really much of a problem anymore what with immobilisers, trackers and so on (although of course, with the majority of this type of car theft now being theft of keys, where you live has more of an impact on your premium).

Insurance groups have changed ( or are about to )
Was speaking to Chris Knott last month.

S2000 GT Group 40
S2000 Ultimate 100 Group 44

Apparently the new groups go up to 50.

Why would a white one be in a higher group, you would have the same chance of writing it off, surely

So is it going to be more less expensive or more expensive?

Bet its the later.
