Fair point in the mileage. My first S was 6 years old versus a 2 year old Loti, so again, fair point.

But my point is the S isn't as reliable as people would like to believe, and modern Loti are not really to be compared with older versions.

Not saying one is better than the other, so don't get too excited

But if someone has a stab at relaibility, I just like to clarify

I have to agree with you Mark about the S2000's reliability. Mine has not been great and it's still not 100%. You only need to go through this forum to find more and more tales of woe.

Don't know much at Lotus'. But car manufacturers can't get away with making "bad" cars any more. Long gone are the days of poorly fitting panels and engines that won't start when it's cold.

I think the gap between the best made, most reliable cars and the worst is much smaller than it once was.

I had hondas since the early 70ties all of them were rather reliable and i have to say the S2000 is no exception far better than the porsche in that respect.
