Default the ice register

http://www.iceregister.co.uk/

another security system, this time for ICE. should your ICE get nicked, then you can report the S/N of the unit as stolen on this site and future buyers can see if it's legit or not.

the way i see it, only if you explicitly mention at sale that the kit is on the register will people actually know about this service.
if someone sells stolen goods online without mentioning about this register, then future buyers wont realise the history of the kit.

whats your thoughts on this - not worth the effort of registering and marking your kit up?

It'll be a great website to hack once loads of people have put in their details - making it much easier to find out where the expensive kit is.

I personally don't see the point. If you bought it, you should have receipts. If you're buying, you should ask to see the receipts, and get copies if you can. If you don't, you're asking for trouble. I know this is a bit of oversimplification (suppose the vendor had one legit stereo, one dodgy ...), but I'm not sure a register like this will help.
