Default Im back on the Honda wagon

After selling my s2000 and quiting my job last month, I had decided to go travelling for a bit. I only ended up snowboarding in Austria for a week and decided to buy a new car as I was getting a bit bored.

I badly wanted the new deep burgundy with tan interior but couldnt stretch the budget at the moment.

I looked at a few s2000's, 99% of which were complete dogs, badly treated or damaged in some way I decided to look at other cars. It was then I looked at ITR's as they could offer a little extra being; ie back seats and a bigger boot. Unfortunately no top down driving .

I found one and test drove it and loved the crispness of its handling. After a bit of thinking I decided to go for it. I shoud have it in just over a week and I cant wait

Ill be back in the s2000 at some point, most probably when the colour combo I was after is a little more affordable.

I like these, if ever I have to get a 'sensible' car I'd be seriously considering one.

It seems more practical and is fun. The handling is very good too. It will make a nice change for a while

Great cars, enjoy! I've been driving mine all weekend

Don't forget to stop by the ITR Forum too.

Dammit! Nice one.

Strongly thinking about one of these to replace the Evo...

Be interested in how you get on with it.

Neil, it seems you can spend a bit on a Gruppe M intake, mainfold, decat and Hondata and you are up to 250 bhp - nice! If the FWD can take it?

Thanks Guys. I've been lurking around itr-dc5 for a bit lately, I've noticed your name crops up quite a bit Mark.

I have to wait around a week for the registration to be complete so hopefully can pick it up on friday.

Neil, did you go for the C-Pack option also?

Yep, with that combo you'd be looking at anything between 240-250bhp at the fly with around 200-210 at the wheels (less transmission loss than on the S2000). The highest proven NA power on the ITR board is around 260 IIRC! For that you need to get new cams.

With the right tyres the FWD wouldn't have too many problems, in the dry anyway

Yes it's a c-pack with the folding mirrors, tints and rear wiper (mine also has a starter button, which is a seperate option). I've also fit a double-din touchscreen with all the trimmings (ipod, cd changer, bluetooth, TV, reversing camera)

I thought if you go over 220bhp in a FWD the handling is effected?

Its a thing which was quoted from Top Gear a while back, from one of the top manufacturers IIRC.

Trouble is the front wheels are doing all the steering, cornering / gripping and providing power but I think the LSD helps a lot. How much you could have before it suffers from torque steer etc im not sure.

I guess it helps that all the power is at the top and linear. If it came in one big lump, eg from a turbo, then the effect would be worse I imagine.

nice car post some more pics when you collect it

defiantly a car a would consider in the future

as for the 220 bhp comment it was a Saab engineer, just before they decided to put 250 bhp through the front wheels on the Saab 95! (just watched that episode of top gear on sky!)
