on a related note I saw deisel at 1.26 per litre yesterday.

Petrol was 1.10

I must get a calculator out and work out if you actually do get better fuel "economy" with deisel these days.

I suspect unless you are driving a deisel lupo, the answer is an emphatic no
Following on from a thread I started a while ago comparing the cost of a new Mondeo Petrol vs diesel https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=586180

Here's some calculations

----cost/l-----l/100km-----cost/100km-----km-----cost/distance--------difference
---D-----P-------D---P-----------D-----P--------------------D-----------P
1.26--1.10---5.9--7.9-----7.43---8.69-----8000-----594.72--695.20-----100.48
1.26--1.10---5.9--7.9-----7.43---8.69----16000----1189.44--1390.40---200.96
1.26--1.10---5.9--7.9-----7.43---8.69----24000----1784.16--2085.60---301.44

(8000km = 5000 miles)

I have a friend who just bought two 40 gallon drums of biodiesel to run his Land Rovers on, it worked out at 40p a litre (and that's only because he bought the professionally produced stuff and he's honest enough to pay the tax).
I'm pretty sure one is exempt from paying fuel tax/duty if less 2500 litres is used in a year.

The s2k still has a good image, still relatively rare and still driven by enthusiasts.

Is there anything wrong with being a geek? The meaning of the word has evolved considerably, now having a knowledge-based slant, rather thah a gauche fool.

If its antithesis is therefore a vacuous trendie, perhaps it's no bad thing!

Oh dear, I wasn't a fan of RD and I don't know what the latter is.

Still, I can be a tad cruel & judgmental of fashion victims, so I suppose that makes me as bad!
