I've got a new Motor ............
It's not a "S", that's on order, its a Golf VR6.
This is the first VW I've had and its pretty good really, the 2.8 V6 is a great engine,it sounds great and is smooth up to the redline.
It's quicker than I'd thought it would be, but the handling is a bit floaty and you have a real feeling of speed when you go in to any sort of fast bend. the dampers lets it bounce to high when you hit any sort of bump.
Things have certainly moved on in the handling terms since 96(when the car was made), this is a top of the range VW and I wouldn't be happy if I'd paid 20K for this thing.
It will just after do for six months.

I've got, for sale, a Corrado VR6. This was THE best ever performance VW and it's surprising how much better it is than the golf (different world really). I think a lot of people mod the Golf V6's to firm up the suspension to improve the handling though. Nice motorway cruiser but not the car it could've been.
I had a MkII GTI and a MKIII GTI 16v as company cars. Great cars for doing long distances in comfort at a decent pace.
I always found the handling to be predictable, they would never break away quickly on a corner / roundabout and they would always give lots of warning with the tyres squealing which meant you could drive them quite hard.
I had a lot of minor problems with electrics on the MkIII that the dealer was unable to locate and fix. I was glad to see the back of it in the end.

Mark, get him!
