Not that I'm in any position to buy - but bloody hell the prices of these have snook up haven't they?

Reading Evo recently XKR-s, versus new AM V8, versus Maserati Granturismo S. The XKR comes in at

I think that Jag XKR-S is lovely, but yeah the price seems a bit steep considering they haven't modified the engine at all (just raised the limiter and suspension mods mainly)...

The Jaguar's a fairly advanced (all aluminium) design and is comparatively light, so any inferiority is probably perception.

The brands were deliberately distanced by Ford's product planners any they are now converging again.

WHether I'd pay that much for any of them, or an Acura GT5000, is another matter though!

That must be why the interior looks like a mondeo/focus with some extra trimings, especially the steering wheel. No way would i splash that sort of money on a Jag over the Maser or the Aston.. no comparison at all..

I reckon the new XKRs are going to be a great second hand buy in a couple more years. Definitely on my short list.
